Remote Tax Accountant

We are seeking skilled remote tax accountants to support the preparation of U.S. federal and state tax returns. This role covers individual, business, and nonprofit filings, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate brings solid U.S. tax knowledge, thrives in a remote team environment, and understands the critical importance of confidentiality in a tax practice. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare individual tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules) Prepare business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065) Prepare nonprofit tax returns (Form 990 series) Review financial statements and supporting documentation Perform data entry and reconciliation of financial information Identify missing information and communicate requirements to supervisors Ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state tax regulations, including California Work within tax software platforms (Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake, UltraTax, or similar) Maintain organized digital workpapers and documentation Meet deadlines during peak tax season and throughout the year Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2+ years of experien…
